2. Discuss how difficult working on a cotton plantation was at any time in history. These photos of slaves working on a cotton plantation may help the conversation.
3. Clean raw cotton by hand and discuss how hard it is to get the seeds out. Connect to the Cotton Gin and Slavery as age appropriate.
